Founder, Owner and Managing Director of Doyenne Wealth Advisors
Laura Stern is a founder, owner and managing director of Doyenne Wealth Advisors, an SEC Registered Investment Advisor advising clients on over $2 billion in assets. Prior to establishing Doyenne with five colleagues, Laura was a principal at Brownson Rehmus & Foxworth. Her career encompasses over 25 years of investment expertise, including 12 years at Prudential Retirement Services as well as a variety of roles in investment consulting and asset management.
Laura earned an MBA from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management and a BA with honors from the University of Chicago. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, she is a member of the global organization CFA Institute, and she is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. She joined the board and the investment committee of VNA Foundation in 2013, a successor organization originally founded by Jane Addams, and currently serves as Chair of the Board. Laura has also served the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago since 2007, previously as Chair of the Retirement Committee, currently as a member of the Finance Committee. An active member of the CFA Society of Chicago, she served on the board from 1998-2004, holding the role of President in 2002-2003.
In addition, Laura volunteers on several finance committees for non-profit organizations, including First Unitarian of Chicago, where the Chicago Children’s Choir originated in 1956. Laura raised her family of three children in Hyde Park, including Elena, who joined the Hyde Park Choir at the age of 8 and graduated as a senior from Voice of Chicago.
